Benjamin Button back in 2008. First Blanchett film I'd seen and then watched about 90% of her other stuff and loved them. Love her.

I was 12 years old - the first time I watched her performance in Curious Case of Benjamin Button. She did a marvelous performance. Also, a 2006 movie : Notes on a Scandal, she played as an art teacher who had relationship with her students. I heard the movie was based on a true story about a teacher in a relationship with her students and then she got pregnant. What a drama

I was never a big fan - even her much lauded performance in Elizabeth didn't do all that much for me, and paled next to other portrayals of Elizabeth I. In her earlier roles she was always solid, but never especially memorable - and occasionally, as in The Talented Mr Ripley (a film I otherwise love) seemed out of place. But she blew me away in Blue Jasmine and again in Carol. Two of the finest performances by anyone in the last ten years. As of now I am excited to see where she goes next.

Wow, it's rare to come across someone who doesn't find Cate's performance in Elizabeth one of the best of her career. I think it's absolutely astonishing. I first became interested in Cate through the LotR trilogy (being a Tolkien fan) but it wasn't until I saw her in Elizabeth that I really realised how deeply gifted she is. How she mixes both intense vulnerability and steely resolve, and manages to make such a famous and almost 'untouchable' historical figure into a multi-faceted, complex and REAL person blows my mind a little. I often think of Blue Jasmine as being Cate's career best performance (to date anyway) but sometimes I think I like her performance in Elizabeth even more. I find it difficult to choose between them, despite what starkly different characters and performances they are.

Probably,
The Gift- not a great film, but she was dynamic.
Perhaps, the first Blanchett film I saw was Elizabeth - and while it was epic, I wasn't sure how to regard her. In The Gift, it was just a quiet, sincere, wonderful performance.
I remember - after watching 3-5 of her films - thinking that I might be watching the greatest actress ever, as she just has the best combination of natural instincts, dazzling intelligence and high integrity. And, of course, she has a natural beauty to her, as well.
- not a great film, but she was dynamic.

I liked her from the first performance I saw her in which was as a guest role in the tv series Bordertown. She played an albino I think and she is just so wide ranging and versatile and classy and puts everything into her roles to become that character. She is amazing.

I saw plenty of her movies before, like TLOTR, Aviator, and Babel. I think I'm in love with her the second time I watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. She's so beautiful in that movie. What really made me love her acting is I'm Not There. She's surprisingly the best Dylan portray even though she's a woman.

Blue Jasmine. She ate up the screen in an absolute blinder of a performance.
Up to that point, while she had been quite good in many roles, I had never gotten the mad love she inspires in so many. Even her widely-praised turn in Elizabeth, while fine, didn't strike me as anything any number of decently talented actresses couldn't have produced.
Jasmine, followed by Carol, and I was a fan at last. -

Its Thor:Ragnarok for me, she did a fantastic job playing Thor's evil half-sister and really stood out as one of Marvel's best villains' to me.
