Thank you! my son has that and they claim he is autistic now It really sucks cause everyone calls him crazy and a lot of other stuff and all these butt heads at his school pick on him. I'm glad some people take the time to help others GET it and God forbid they or their family end up with a problem, then it won't be so funny to them!

I know he had a brain injury and all of that - I'm not one of those people who're making fun of him or anything. He is very interesting to observe though. Do you know what he's done before the accident at all or what he acted like before? I'm just curious if there are any interviews or anything out there where you can compare his behavior.
I've always wondered if how he actsb68 now is just who he's always been or because of the brain damage.

After his brain injury his interviews are the same. He has always been known as crazy because of his eccentric behavior even before the accident. I'm a fangirl with a bunch of newspaper, magazine clippings, some recorded interviews, photos, and have seen almost all of his movies (working on it).
        Post-TBI Busey clips:
        David Letterman 1990:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMURD17Jeok
With Howard Stern on a comedy skit about Traumatic Brain Injuries http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpHfYmlnLA4
Singing 'Stay All Night' on Letterman
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwNSXNXA3nU
        From 'Surviving the Game' 1994
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-nVb0JaKJY
He was fine after his accident. If you watch his films from 1990-onward he doesn't act any different thanb68 before. It wasn't until he got older I believe that he became more outspoken. Which incidentally, I consider Gary to be normal and everyone else is just nuts & NOT the Buseyism for nuts either. How they point out other people's business to cover their own shortcomings is a mental illness. If the public did more reading, they'd realize how abnormal they are. Issue is most of the haters won't set one foot into a psych's office. It feels better to sit atop that phony pedestal they've created for themselves.

Part of what you said contradicts the OP.
To make fun of someone because of their differences if not PC, and you implied the people are, the rest fits right though.
I can't think of anything witty or amusing to write here

Yes, I agree with Bohemianism. Do you even know what PC stands for? It does not fit this
              at all
. To pick on someone because of how different they are is anything but PC; someone who's PC (politically correct) would tell everyone to STOP picking on him and treat him as an equal, because he can't help his state and it's just mean and demoralizing. Basically the OP.
I've never seen the term used so wrong before.
I hear his theme music, he's around here somewhere

I think he probably was always a bit "off" but look at this 1990 spot on letterman.

He's pretty animated, but not quite as all over the place. Could be a function of aging.

He was always hyper. And fond of mugging for the camera. And drugs are nothing new. But after the head trauma he changed. A lot.
My father had Organic Mental Illness. He was also an alcoholic prior to the accident that cost him so much of his brain. So I can understand Gary. Poor guy.

its awful that people are being so ignorant. He isn't a horrible person, he isn't a murderer, he isn't hurting anyone, yet people are so ignorant, when they dont even know the facts about his trauma. He hasn't been acting THAT bad lately, he seems to be energetic, friendly, and eccentric, but people are so quick to judge him, calling him crazy and weird and a loser for the way his personality has changed, yet they don't know the details. It is amazing how ignorant, condesending pricks people have become in this society its sad.
"who let this IRA motherf___er in my bar?" haha j/k. Hows your mother?

As I said, my father had brain damage. A veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam, he deserved a better type of 'latter years.' And when I heard him being slighted it was time to tour fist city. But even then, he was wise enough to teach me I should just pity those idiots.

Gary Busey has lived the dream. He is a good actor and one of my favorites, and I do not give a rats ass what anyone thinks about it if negative. I have even heard he's hard to work with. So what, some people are. If I can ever advance to a certain level, I'll hire him in a heartbeat. Busey Rocks.

It is like kids at school, you can have an illness (anything from epilepsy to diabetes to something more visible such as Mild Brain Damage) or you can just be different than to those who consider themselves "cool".
Not just at school it stops however, it can occur after school and why? Simple, because a lot of people in this world are uncaring, insensitive bullies who love to pick on people they find a threat to their existence, to their way of life not realising they are not bothering those individuals AT all. They also try to cover up their own problems and yes, most people who point and poke fun at others have far more pressing issues than those they dare to insult.
They may be to ignorant or full of themselves to admit it but why do you think they hang around in packs? Because on their own they are intimidated, they want to feel secure and get approval from their "friends".
Bullies of all forms are cancerous growths in this universe, Gary Busey has had to endure a lot of snickering because of his biking accident he had in '88 causing him to act "way out there".
If people would just grow up, take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror and actually realised EVERYONE had feelings rather than point and make tactlessb68 jokes, this world would be a better place.unfortunately, with all of the egotistical idiots who walk around like they are God's gift, no, believe me you are not, you are more like The Juggling Jackasses.
