Gary is so terribly underrated and underused and underestimated and I believe that's why he just gave up and began to act the way people thought he was - Nuts ! He has a new baby on the way (or born now maybe) he apparently has a woman.. Maybe he'll be half-way happy. I always liked him and hoped the best for him. He has a light..

So if he has such 'terrible' brain damage how come he seems pretty normal in 1992 in Predator 2!

I think he's a great actor. Which is why it is so disturbing that he used his talent to portray an over-the-top evil Jewish stereotype in a movie, wildly popular in Turkey, that is so hyper-critical of the U.S. that it makes it look worse than the worst of Nazi Germany. The movie is an attack not on individuals or specific incidents or policy, but on the country as a whole, with "EVIL!" part of the national character.

If some Turks want to make a one-sided propaganda film, then whatever, that's their prerogative. But did Gary Busey really need the paycheck that badly?

So brain damage excuses violence and cocaine. Ok.

I love Gary. People just dont understand.
He was thrown off a motorcycle when he wrecked and it caused permanent damage to the frontal lobe of the brain. This is the part of the brain that controls your impulses and censors your speech. None of it his fault!
I am eager for his future work.

Umhe was driving a motorcycle, possibly without a helmet, or so some other poster said. So yes, it IS his fault, technically. He made risky choices and had to suffer the unfortunate consequences.

He has permanent brain damage because he didn't wear a helmet riding his motorcycle. He was a stupid jackass before then if you look at interviews and so for long before the accident. Face it - his elevator never ran to the top floor from day one.
But he opens himself up for jokes and comments appearing where he or at least his family, friends & handlers know he's going to make an ass out of himself. If it had only happened once or twice, fine, but when he/they allow him to do it repeatedly, he's opening himself up for ridicule, jokes and so forth about his appearance and actions.
Publicity and fame is a double-edged sword. Celebrities do whatever they can to get coverage by the press and other media. The price for that coverage is being covered and if they don't know how to handle themselves - it's their fault. Frankly, who the hell cares his opinion of vendors in a gift suite in Hollywood during awards week? That's the just the latest / most current episode.
If family & friends were that concerned, they'd keep him away from the cameras and microphonesbut anytime he makes an ass out of himself like that, it increases people's awareness of him and keeps his name buzzing around Hollywood where someone may decide to cast him and pay him to make a jackass of himself.

Did his accident cause his teeth to grow to ridiculous proportions?

its a crazy world from what ive seen so its no surprise to me that one mans meanness is another mans pleasure. i dare say, at the risk of bringing another mans pleasure, the pride of goose creek texas throughout his career has been a whole lot of fun to watch.

SO glad I saw this post. I've been trying to educate people about it too. I mean, since when was it okay for the "mentally disabled" to be a target for cruelty?

Can you imagine the beep storm if people treated the deaf actress that was on the show a few seasons back the same way as Busey? Yes he should've worn a helmet but most of you and the ppl on the show probably wouldn't treat a smoker with cancer, an injured/disabled athlete, or vocalist with damaged vocal chords the same way. You don't have to love his work or even show a drop of sympathy, but he should be given respect and courtesy just like any other disabled person. Life is hard enough without ppl making fun of or constantly reminding you of your disability.
And what about these famous folks doing campaigns about empowerment and other beep that often comes off as insincere? Or former addicts educating others? No one makes fun of them (and the first group should be) or comment on their bad decisions.but yet most on this board overlook Busey's advocacy and fundraising for those with TBI. He has come out and said he and all ppl should wear helmets!

I know. It's so weird. It's common knowledge that making fun of those who are mentally ill is seriously wrong and is not acceptable. Unless it's Gary Busey?
