He was great in that one, shame he didnt won the Oscar. But after that film, he was typecast as a villian in basically every movie after the first "Lethal Weapon".
I am not saying he is bad as the villian, he was fun in both "Predator 2" & "Under Siege". But has he ever played the nice guy, or the hero ?

Yes, Busey played nice guys throughout his career, until Lethal Weapon. Check out his earlier roles: Straight Time, Big Wednesday, A Star is Born, The Gumball Rally, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Lolly-Madonna XXX. I know these are rare titles, but you may be able to find D.C. Cab, Silver Bullet, and Eye of the Tiger. He was great in Let's Get Harry as well.
After Lethal Weapon, he was "nice guy" in: Rookie of the Year, Point Break, The Firm, Soldier, and Black Sheep.
Overall, Busey is a great actor. It is a shame to see his career go down with reality shows and crazy antics. Today's generation will never look at him seriously, unless they see his film catalog.

        Hello, filmnut81
Thank you for the movietips !
I auctally own "Point Break" on DVD & I watched it recently. A good thriller & a cult hit. Csnt belive i forgot about it. Busey played a fun character in that. Movies like "Drop Zone" & "Terminal Velocity" tried to copy the formula, but less successfully.
I found a site that streams old 70s, 80s & 90s movies. They have the ones hes most known for & some obscure titles like "Carny", "Barbarosa", "Surviving The Game" & "Big Wednesday". I remember catching "Surviving the Game" on TV, years ago. Will watch it again, soon. I have also heard about an over the top action movie called "Bulletproof" where he plays a cop named McBain. I have to watch that someday.
Gary Busey is good in everything he is in. Its a shame that he got hooked on cocaine.

even after lethal weapon he starred in "bulletproof" in a starring role as a good guy i know there are a few others around that time as well..
in his earlier days, of course he was a good "bad" guy lol if you will in dustin hoffman's straight time.

He wasn't a villain in 'Predator 2'. Besides, he played and still plays good/normal guys in many, many movies so you are very wrong about him always/usually playing the villain since 'Lethal Weapon'. More recently he also appeared in 'Piranha 3DD'
'Bulletproof' is a great little flick too. 'Act of Piracy' is another one.

He has played the hero in a number of B-movies such as Act of Piracy, Plato's Run, Warriors, Breaking Point and probably many more.

I still need to see Carny, but you can't get much nicer than Karl from Barbarosa. One of the best and most unique westerns ever IMHO. Should have been way more popular than it is.

I grew up with the movie Rookie of the Year and he played a good guy on there. Recently I watched him as an ultimate baddie on Walker Texas Ranger as Donovan Riggs and dueled it out with Walker in the end. I've mostly seen him play bad guys but he is great at being both good and bad.
