I know that before he died, Red had written a huge autobiography that had not been edited a couple of years later it was about to be published (dates had been set and was even listed on Amazon) but was withdrawn at the last second and never mentioned again.
Carl Reiner had read the unedited version (I think) while Red was still alive and stated it was the best book on show business he had ever read, but thought it would never be published anyone out there have any further word and will it ever be released.
For the record, here's all the details:
I Never Got a Dinner: The Autobiography of Red Buttons by Red Buttons (2008, Hardcover)
    Publisher: Phoenix Books Inc
    Pub. Date: 12/1/2008
    ISBN-10: 1597775975
    ISBN-13: 9781597775977
    Length: 292 pages
    Publisher's Note
In I Never Got a Dinner Red Buttons gives us the details of his long and fascinating life. From his Jewish-immigrant upbringing in New York City, to his glory days as host of his own prime-time television variety show, to his big-screen triumphs alongside such film giants as Marlon Brando, Ginger Rogers, and Jane Fonda, Buttons tackles his personal and professional life with sometimes hilarious, at other times devastating, sincerity.
