Blame the script if you don't like what she was given to do. Short Round was made to scream Innnddyyyyyyy at least as much. Overall a perfectly likeable character in that self-absorbed on-the-make way of hers, it can't have been easy to pull-off Willie

eh im gonna have to disagree i thought she was flippen annoying in this movie
she was wayy too whiny.
and it seemed like she got in the way alot
i did like the part when indy came into her room looking for some bad dude or whatever that could potentially hurt her and shes like be gentle with me! be gentle! hahaha like wtf?
buti gotta sayshes an excellent background bagel. -

Uhare you being serious in that? Did you not get the reason she said that? It had -nothing- to do with any potential bad guys in her room.
But, whatever.
I'm torn. I thought the character was annoying. But, she was supposed to be. You5b4 weren't supposed to like her. Through the whole movie you wanted Indy to just push her over a cliff and get her to shut up.
That was the whole point of her character. You were meant to feel that way.
So, she did a fantastic job of pulling it off. -

word tardis, lmao
sorry i thought that the character was fine it was her performance that was painful, real painful to watch. so much so that i had to block her out and had to keep telling myself to ingore her acting skills and just try to focus on the film and the characters.
I am shocked to say the least at how many people actually think she was good in this film and want to see her in the new one! I mean, the character was suppose to be funny but her overacting every single scene was painstaking and if I'm going to dish out 100 bucks to see a movie with my family, I'm not paying to see bad acting, I can watch that on The Hills for free! Thank God, Speilberg loves his wife enough to not have her raked over the coals for her horrible performance and loves his fans enough to not torture us with her presence on screen ruining yet another Indy film. -

Hands down. Willie is the worst supporting character ever writen. She was completly annoying and nearly ruined the movie for me.
I'm sure Kate isn't that bad of an actress, it's just that the character really really sucked. -

I disagree with the OP. I think she was perfect for the film. And she doesn't do the Innnndddyyyy thing that muchyeah, she yells, but so did Marion, and she only yelled at appropriate times. And I think it was Marion who said his name that way more than Willie did.
I love Kate Capshaw's "Willie Scott".
