i absolutely loved 'marvin and tige'what a sweet movie, and he was just wonderful in it. a troubled, yet extremely kind man.
unfortunately, i haven't seen 'winter dreams'.
    some others i would include
20th century fox hour'the last patriarch'
breaking point'there are the hip and there are the square'
bob hope presents the chrysler theatre'free of charge'. he was really wonderful, and sorta different, in this. and this show also features a great performance by ben gazzara.
'saddle the wind' john in a western! i love it!
'virgin island' another sorta different performance by him in this.
    'affair in havana'
and of course 'crime in the streets' and 'edge of the city'
and i could go on and on and on..

the tv stuff is impossible to find isnt it? i've dug up some stuff from the Khrysler theatre, winter dreams of course and stuff from alfred hitchcock hour but those you mentioned i've hunted for a long time and been unable to find. Virgin Island is a bit of a terrible film but he's as usual great in it-i even thought he was fantastic in Incubus giving a very haunted performance in an othewrwise standard horror film

yes, the tv stuff was really difficult to obtain. but in a way, the hunt was kinda fun.
i got most of my stuff back in 2004. i dealt with this guy named tom kleinschmidt, who had a site online, and he had thousands of videos, either on tape or dvd. he was really great to deal with. but i'm not sure if he's still in business.
you're right though, even in so-so movies like incubus and the fury and virgin island, he rose above the junkiness of the movie and put in a great and fun performance.
some other good ones are 'the first star' co-starring janet blair.b68 that was an alcoa theatre production that was really good. also the elgin hour's 'combat medics' and 's.i.w.' from the combat! series. and of course the hitchcocks that you mentioned. and we surely can't forget that terrific series 'johnny staccato'! now that was a real gem.

yes, the night holds terror was quite good. i think i liked it because it was so dated.
i've searched and searched for kleinschmidt and all i've come up with was this
            http://www.rosemaryclooney.com/videos/index.htm
the site is the same set-up as the one i remember, but obviously this one is for rosemary clooney fans.
i do have his email address, which i'll PM you, but keep in mind that it's the one he was using back in 2004, so i don't know if it's still good.
i hope you can find him, and i wish you luck!

                  yes he was.
and for a more main stream movie, he really should have won for 'the dirty dozen'. i know he was nominated, but george kennedy beat him out for the win with 'cool hand luke'.

is pretty damn great. I mean, what's not to like about it?

well, first off, i really don't like charlton heston, so that's the first hurdle i have to get over.
and secondly, i thought most of the acting was rather wooden. there are a lot of stars in it, but i don't think a lot of them put in their best performances.people like jack klugman, david janssen, beau bridges, david groh, among others.
i also thought it was a bit on the corny side, and the writing wasn't all that great.
other than that, it wasn't bad.

Well, for an old-school action flick it's pretty fun.
By the way, I'm not the world's biggest Charlton Heston fan either I was concentrating mostly on John and that tight black t-shirt he wore early in the film

i loved the fact he was so hard as nails in that film, a very tough guy performance from him and its not a bad film
Incubus is interesting because he plays his role with so much depth its out of place (for trivia buffs Cassavetes spent 5 days in a locked room reworking the script and his character so he really gave a damn about his acting in it even though he couldnt change the fact that the main story was cr8p)

didn't he hole himself up with the author, in some remote shack or something? that's the memory i have in my head about it.
