I thought about the exact same thing watching Dog Day Afternoon today, and I do believe, without beeing 100% certain, that this is in fact so.
You could say that every guy who played an orc in LOTR has "all" of their movies in the top 250, but thats not the same thing is it?=)
If anyone has found a person that in fact equals Cazales top 250 rating, then please let us know! -

his first movie isn'tand it's the only one that doesn't have a bunch of powerful actors in it perhaps if you can find another good actor that only made seven movies, all with world-class actors and directors, you'd find the same thing, however, most actors have dozens of films out, and it would be impossible for them all to be in the top 250.

yeah but you got to think about it, aside from the deer hunter he was always with lumet or coppola and he always acted along side of pacino or deniro. he was never not with one of the biggest names in cinema history

I would just like to state that John Cazale would have been considered a world class actor had he lived a longer life. It's not that he was surrounded by fame (at the time The Godfather was being made, no one was really that famous), it's that he was an extremely talented man.
Movies on IMDB are not overrated, you're just of the minority that doesn't bloody LIKE THEM! -

If you had no idea who Cazale was and you heard Pacino or Streep talk about how great and actor John Cazale was you would make seeing him work one of your priorities in cinema.
Watch this documentary made in 2009, "I Knew It Was You: Rediscovering John Cazale" and listen to all the top level actors and directors and producers talk about Cazale and you will change your opinion that he basically got lucky because of his supporting cast. And not only actors from his generation but top actors that were babies when Cazale made movies that have been inspired by him. -

Yes, he is the only actor with multiple credits (playing multiple roles, not just in one movie) to have all his movies in the top 250 and the only one to have all his movies up for best picture. American Way doesn't count because it's a short and shorts don't even qualify for the top 250 list.

Yeah, I realized after watching Deer Hunter and reading that he died basically RIGHT after that. It's something else that all of the movies he's been in are terrific. My personal favorite is Dog Day Afternoon, thats a damn good movie. I've yet to see the Conversation though, might as well complete my Cazale viewings.

John Cazale was a great guy. Also all his films have at least an 8.0/10 rating. Hearing Cavatina at the end of Battlestar Galactica just now reminded me of The Deer Hunter. R.I.P. John.
