quick background on All Apologies for anyone that doesnt know it was the last track on the last actual Nirvana cd while kurt was alive. Basically its very last page in th2000e nirvana book. My theory is that kurt either knew, or knew there was a good chance, that he was going to die soon so he put All Apologies as the last track of In Utero as a way of saying "Im sorry for killing myself". Its almost like a suicide note of sorts. Lets face it, most people who commit suicide plan it out months or years in advance. And kurt was the type of person to do something cryptic like that. This is my theory about all apologies, agree? disagree?

Plausable theory but it's hard to say because the song was written and being performed live during the 'Nevermind' tour. The lyrics have also changed over time until its studio recording for 'In Utero'.
Maybe Kurt re-worked the lyrics to reflect what he had planned for his future. Maybe it's no coincedence that its the last song on Kurt's last complete album. Then again, he did return to the studio to work on his next album before he died; the result being 'You Know You're Right'. This fact calls into question what his true intentions really were.
It's impossible to know. Only thing I know is that Kurt is sadly missed.
