Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kurt Cobain

    evonykm — 10 years ago(January 31, 2016 01:46 AM)

When I was a teen I was caught up in the Original Nirvana fever. I had all the teenage angst and although my own upbringing was fine other than a broken home, I felt it was somehow personal to me.
So twenty something years and the occasional listen to later I stumbled on 'Heck' and watched.
I think Kurt burned out too quick although I don't think he'd have achieved what he had if he hadn't had pain, drugs and booze.
Loved the melodic music hidden behind the grunge, genuine attitude, ambivalent lyrics mashed up to be what ever you take from it and of course his voice. Wow.
Definitely a legend, genius and deserves his place on the pantheons.

I agree.I always wonder what grunge would have been like or what Nirvana would have been like had they continued throughout the 90s with Kurt, had he not died.
Did any of his songs really stand out to you and were especially meaningful to you?

I could name many but to pick out one it would be 'Come As You Are'.
It was musical perfection for me. The lyrics always made me feel inclusive and positive. I have read things saying that it was more about being let down and was ironic but I never heard it like that.
The video was perfect with water being the theme that shadowed the guitar vibe.
