I don't think they've made a bad film to date. Even 'The Ladykillers' is interesting to a point and certainly entertaining (it is also better that the original). 'Intolerable Cruelty' is under-rated in my opinion.

"Intolerable Cruelty is under-rated in my opinion".
I also thought so after I first saw it so my advice would be to avoid repeat viewings as theyve only served to reveal that its unfunny, terribly lightweight and empty-headed. Almost unidentifyable as a Coen picture.
The Ladykillers on the other hand works way too hard to get its laughs, to the point where the idiosyncracies become merely annoying. Too bad cuz I kinda like its visual style and all. O Bro does nothing to me either. Maybe its that awful folksy bluegrass vibe.

Actually, I preferred IC on the second viewing, though I tend to agree that it is a lightweight film. I think they tend to work like this, though. They bring out something like No country and follow it with Burn after reading (which isn't without interest but remains too slight). I've no problem with them making films with less subtance as long as they are genuinely entertaining, original and refreshing (which they generally are).
