She says she was asked to lunch at a fancy restaurant by the Bond makers and Daniel Craig and they told her.
She was a bit upset but kept it secret until the film was released, even from her family.

I aggre such an awesome actress I will miss her as M but I thought she had stood down because her eye sight was going.. Anyway no1 will replace her legacy as M

She was terrible as M if you've watched James Bond films from the very beginning. I am so glad that she is gone from the franchise and will be equally happy when that brute Craig officially ends his stint as the worst Bond.
