There is only one, there will only ever be one, and long may he continue to be the one. The sheer volume of genius he had displayed by the age of 25 was enough to fill a lifetime, but he's been doing it for 45 years more. Yes, there have been down periods, but in a career that long how can there not be? He's currently on a 4 record hot streak (Christmas album not counted) that I hope stretches on for many more to come, he doesn't get enough credit for the diversity he displays in his songs, he is unquestionably the greatest song writer that has ever lived, and I don't care what anybody says, I love his voice.
The young rebel became the old king, as someone once said, he created the generation gap, and then bridged it. He can do anything, he's done just about everything (I think Street Rock proves that), and here's to many more years atop the mountain.

Happy 75th to as accomplished a fella as pop culture has ever seen. To the man who wrote Freewheelin', and Times They are a Changin', Another Side, Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde on Blonde all before he was 25 years old. Most people would be happy with those 6 in a lifetime, but for him it was just the start, and he's spent the half century since going beyond the infinite. Nothing, and nobody compares. May the records keep coming, may the never ending tour live up to5b4 its name.
