Was she a good actress?

I'm asking because I didn't see this addressed anywhere else in the discussion board. I watched a biography of BE once and they relayed a story that when she was auditioning, producers would tell her to give up on acting, go home, marry the boy next door and have 2.5 kids with the white picket fence, etc. They insinuated that this drove her to prove herself and achieve success in Hollywood.
My question is, was that producer wrong in what he said? I know she's done a lot of work but she seems to only be remembered for IDOJ, which doesn't seem to be a very challenging role. She seemed to just be playing the typical blonde bimbo. Maybe she just got lucky with that role and benefits from a lot of nostalgia from the public.
Does anyone think she was a good or generally above average actress? -

That's how I saw her as well. I have a couple of movies she was in (Dead Man's Island and Visions of Terror) and think she played her characters well.
Tonight I came to her message board hoping to see something about her time on Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition. She was sent home tonight. I hated to see her go, but running around in the kitchen and multitasking the way the contestants have to, seemed to stress her out a whole lot and I wonder if she was relieved to go home. She handled going home with a lot of grace. Gotta love her. -

I adore her. She was a very good character actress. So hard to see her sent home on America's Worst Cooks: Celebrity Edition. She's close to my grandmother's age & I thought she was very brave to go on this show at age 85!
