Hi! I think Barbara did the right thing to charge so much. I see people trying to get her signature and sell things for a high price on ebay. They all just try to make money with Barbara's signature. That's fact! Just take a look at old signed Jeannie toys or especially bottles on ebay!
I get emails from Barbara Eden's fans from all over the world and she is ALWAYS very friendly and very polite to EVERY fan and she does not charge for autographs when you meet her in a restaurant, on the street or after a show/ stage play.
Barbara treasures every fan, I felt that when I went from Germany to the states two times (last year and a few months ago). She and her whole crew treated me very special. I think she already stoped working with her female agent, but I think she has to be strict to keep noisy people away from Barbara. It's not always easy being a celebrity as everybody just wants to see you happy, smile all the time and look good all the time
So everybody please stop saying bad things about Barbara. She is a really good person, very friendly and she is always there for her fans.
If you really want a good picture with you and Barbara or if you want to get your bottle signed, who cared if she charges a little bit more or less

I am quite sure Barbara Eden - and Tina Louise, who the same person writes about on Tina's board - have signed many an autograph "free" over the years - they both signed for me a decade ago at no charge - but there are certain venues and times when there is a charge or a purchase requirement. If you are not ok with that then don't go when there is such a charge (it's almost always known in advance) and see if you can meet them at something like a premiere or an awards show. The autograph charges are often to cover their travel expenses, hotel rooms, etc. to autograph shows as well as their assistants' salaries.
The main reason that stars do charge for their autographs is because they have wisened up and know that many "fans" who ask for autographs only do so to resell them. A star cannot tell who is a sincere fan and who is out to make money from an autograph. I know of a star who signed an autographed picture only to have someone else there comment how much they love the photo and then the first "fan" turned right around and sold it to the other fan in front of the star!! Another time, a fan approached a star with several photos and as the star was signing away, the "fan", apparently trying to make a compliment, mentioned these pictures were going to make the fan a lot of money because the star was so popular!! And then that fan wondered why the star quit signing!
I'm sure many stars have had bad experiences over the years so they are often leery. So the reason it is often hard to get a star to sign for free now is because there are so many people out there who aren't really fans who just want the autographs for their cash value. I'm an autograph collector too and I hate that there is often a charge but I can understand it. -

Look people, the promoters of those shows are the ones who go greedy. I used to go to those at Ray Court's shows here in the San Fernando Valley in the early days (1996-97) and most only charged $5 for a signature. As Ray got greedy and raised the entrance fee and probably charged more for tables it forced everyone to charge more. Don't blame the celebs. Besides I don't deny them the right to make money, most are retired. You can always go and just look you don't have to buy a picture. God is there no pleasing anyone?

I saw that movie and what was intersting is not only is she a brunette in that movie when we are used to seeing her as blonde but Shelley Fabares also in that photo was a blonde in that movie when we normally see her as a brunette
