    1. The Party
    2. S.O.B.
    3. 10
    4. Days of Wine and Roses / Experiment in Terror
    5. Great Race
    6. Victor / Victoria
    7. Micki & Maude
    8. That's Life
    9. Shot in the Dark
    10. Pink Panther
Don;t throw stones, I know it may seem strange, but the Panther films are of my least favorites. There are moments I love. Some, in my opinion, classic. I never got into them. Never could relate. To me, Edwards brought the panache of the hip swinging 60's into the 70's and 80's via Malibu and Bel Aire with a brillent group of actors and a man who captured the style and tone in music - Mancini.

Well, my favorite Blake Edwards films are:

      1. Days of Wine and Roses
      2. The Pink Panther Strikes Again
      3. The Party
      4. A Shot in the Dark
      5. Return of the Pink Panther
      6. Victor/Victoria
      7. The Great Race
      8. 10
      9. Revenge of the Pink Panther
        10)The Pink Panther
As you can see, I love the Pink Panther movies. Also, I must say, though, that I have not seen a whole lot of other Edwards other than the ones I mentioned. Although, I do want to see THE TAMARINT SEED (spell), for the Omar Sharif reference in STRIKES AGAIN, S.O.B. and DARLING LILI. But the ones above are pretty great

I loved The Tamarind Seed and The Party, SOB is very good too and Darling Lili would have been superb if they had just made it shorter

I always wanted to see the Tamarind seedpartially because I'm a HUGE fan of his wife, Julie Andrews. I would hav5b4e to agree..Darling Lili was a GREAT movie..if it was shorter, there were scenes that weren't needed.I thought 10 and Victor/Victoria were HILARIOUS! And i love to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's.

I love Breakfast at Tiffany's more than I thought it was possible to love a movie, but I don't feel like it truly showcases Edwards' skill as a director as some of his later work did - especially when he wrote or adapted the storyline and screenplay, as in The Great Race and Darling Lili. Victor Victoria will always be a fave for me, but I do love The Great Race - I feel like it's Blake's bawdy, ridiculous humor at all-time perfection.

                  1. S.O.B. (anarchic, personal, biting, surreal, absurd, playful, angry, reckless, broad, sharp in short beep great)
                  2. Victor/Victoria (his most controlled farce - technically and thematically)
                  3. The Party
                  4. 10
                  5. What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?
                  6. The Pink Panther
                  7. The Great Race
                  8. A Shot in the Dark
                  9. Gunn
                  10. Skin Deep
Although Darling Lili, The Days of Wine and Roses and Wild Rovers (if you cut out all the Peckinpah-infatuated slow motion crap) could tie for the last spot, or even interchange with the 7-10 positions.

Blake Edwards makes entertaining films, and rather than be up-front about the social issues of the time, he quietly makes commentaries and subversively undermines the problems of his time (though he slips up sometimes in terms of being PC, though these slips are not at all Freudian and shouldnt be taken heavily). People laugh at his films, and I wish that more young people would watch these classic films.

Hey, that's what's great about opinions. Everyone's entitled to theirs.
I think that makes me a minority on this board.

"Days Of Wine and Roses" that is one of the best films i've seen
The only reason I didn't say "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is because I read the book actually, after I saw the film- which I found "ok", great soundtrack (I Love my Mancini) Audrey is gorgeous though.

"Experiment in Terror" rises above the Edwards' work as a tightly controlled, beautifully shot, expertly edited and well-acted motion picture. Too often, for me, Edwards' films look "staged" and dead. "Experiment in Terror" even today is organic and fluid (scary too).
