Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Nicole Eggert

    HarveyManfredSinJohn — 10 years ago(December 12, 2015 08:20 AM)

For some reason some sites and posters on forums have listed Nicole as Jewish, without of course citing a source. It seems that they have simply come to this conclusion on the basis that her father is German.
Well, the following link, from her Official Facebook Page, confirms that she is NOT Jewish:
    https://m.facebook.com/52965372988/photos/pb.52965372988.-2207520000.1449936061./10152626793212989/?type=3&source=42
Nicole states in reply to a poster who says "I thought you were a Jewish", "What makes you think I was 'a Jewish'? hahahaaha wouldn't mind but no we are not
    "
And I know many secular Jews celebrate Christmas but not many of them celebrate Easter, as Nicole apparently does according to her page, or are so open in discussing/promoting their Christian faith as she apparently is.
I don't understand why certain people on social media must attribute a more ethnic background to celebrities, particularly blonde, blue-eyed ones, whether it is a Jewish, Native American, Latin or even African one, against all evidence to the contrary. I can understand why some left-leaning, liberal, white-guilt-plagued celebs may seek a more exotic/oppressed-sounding identity (and judging from some of thb68e comments on her Facebook page, such as the one regarding the Confederate flag, Nicole is no left-winger, even if she is at least against racism and homophobia), but why do other people seek to make celebrities seem more ethnic than they really are?
