I met Jack when I was a cub scout back in 1972 when they were filming an episode of Gunsmoke at Morrison's Lodge on the Rogue River in Grants Pass, Oregon. He was very friendly and gave all of us scouts his autograph. Wish I knew what happened to my autograph book. It got lost over the years. Anyway, I wasn't aware that Jack had retired to Ashland, Oregon (only 50 miles from where he did his 1972 Gunsmoke shoot). I attended college in Ashland and would have liked to have lob68oked him up.
