hmmmi actually like what they did to marcus in TLC :D! as for him being somewhat bumbling and "stupid", perhaps it was because he wasn't in his "environment".
marcus is "scholarly" guy who prefers to stay inside the walls of his museum. so you can just imagine how "new" it was for him to be shoved into the action and dangers of the outside world. but as you can see, whenever they talk about the powers of the grail, marcus'5b4 mature and intelligent side shines through :)!
btw, I MISS DENHOLM ELLIOT!!! i sooo had a crush on him.- Forth Eorlingas!!! +

^ This man speaks the truth. He was a man of books. Indy was the man to get out and do the dirty work.

Just because he thinks he would do well looking for the ark doesn't mean he'd do well at all in the field. He mentions in "Last Crusade" that he speaks ancient Greek. As a young man he probably spent time excavating ruins in Greece, but not fighting Nazis and shooting people.

"I wonder if he will be referred to in the fourth Indiana Jones film"
That's quite feasible. Spielberg and Lucas obviously had quite a regard for the actor and the character by bringing him back for The Last Crusade. -

Yea, instead they decided to desecrate the character by knocking his head off the statue. Freaking unacceptable. Honestly, I'm not even one to complain about something stupid like that, but the new Indy pissed me off so much that it doesn't even have the clout to be able to knock the head off of Brody's statue.

Everyone should keep in mind that Elliott loved to overact. He was a ham. He may have done little things that really brought it to flourish. Also, Brody is portrayed much like he was in Raider111cs until he is left on his own. It seemed to me that Brody wanted desperately to have the adventure "I'll tell him we'll take two", without realizing how unsuited he was to actually go. I saw nothing wrong with his part, and Elliott seemed to enjoy it, so that's all that matters.
