I think scattered rain has been keeping the worst of the heat at bay, plus the heat dome isn't as strong here. Like, we have been a few degrees above average, but not at 100 (yet) like some of the places up north.

The only good hiking weather in Louisiana is in the fall and winter. I think that's why so many people are fat here. Too much good food and too much humid heat.
I envy my nephew. He lives in the Seattle area now. That's like my ideal place to live. Twin Peaks country. Rainy, but not a tornadic place. Cool temps. Also, love the culture and music scene. I love the culture in South Louisiana, but the weather and the politics are ****.
It's so expensive there though.
