Its because he is adam sandler in every movie. His voice acting need loads of work. He needs to learn how to be characters, not just visually but by changing his voice as well (not just the sound but the style is super important). Every movie I hear the growl and the laugh, its getting old, very old

People have tired from his toilet humor. And lately, his movies just haven't been good. He accepts very poor roles.
And then the movies that are half decent, The Cobbler for instance, are completely ignored because it's surrounded by poor films.
He's the Nicholas Cage of comedy. He should be more selective with his roles.
And maybe he should take a break away from humor for awhile and go the dramatic route. We all know he's capable of it.

Some of the worst films in history have high sales. All that means is people were gullible enough or interested to see how awful it actually was.

I love Adam Sandler. I grew up with his movies and have been watching ever since Billy Madison. To me, he is an instant sell in watching a movie. Yes, he makes some garbage, but he's fun to watch. Kind of like a Family Guy episode. It's very simple humor. You don't have to think too much. When I want a thought-provoking film, I'll call on Christopher Nolan. When I want to see an amazing dramatic performance that will rock my world, I'll call on Edward Norton. When I want to see horror, sci-fi, etc. Understand, Adam Sandler is a comedian first and an actor second. Maybe not so much anymore, but he got into movies through stand-up and Saturday Night Live. He's a writer (wrote some of his best early works, like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, etc.). And while he has taken some shots at dramatic roles, it should in no way be expected of him. Why can't people understand that he does comedy because comedy is what he knows. Maybe he doesn't care about winning an Oscar or delivering a heart-wrenching, earth-shattering dramatic performance. He's not Jimmy Stewart or Marlon Brando or Deniro or any actor of their calabre. He's a comic actor/writer. Accept him for what he is. If you don't like his movies, don't see them. Simple as that.
              Side comments:
The Cobbler is probably one of his worst. I didn't laugh once. And it wasn't dramatic or thought-provoking, so don't try to defend it saying he was trying something different. After Jack & Jill and Bedtime Stories, it's probably his 3rd worst movie.

It's unfortunate you didn't laugh once during The Cobbler. I laughed plenty. It's certainly not his worst. And neither was Bedtime Stories. Jack and Jill is trash though along with Grown Ups 2, Funny People and That's My Boy.
In any case, Adam Sandler is indeed a comedian, one that people are growing tired of. He either needs to change his act or try something new if he wants a future respected career in Hollywood. That's just reality of the situation. It's not that he's not funny anymore, it's that his act is old. And it's not just his act, it's the entire toilet humor genre that's dying.
The great thing about people is that they can change. They can try new things. Do we really want Chrisopher Nolan to only ever try his hand at dark dramas? Of course not. Eclecticism sells.

Adam Sandler is definitely not the Adam Sandler of the '90s and not even 16d0the Adam Sandler of the '00s, but I find his movies moderately amusing. Which parts of The Cobbler did you find funny? I thought Bedtime Stories was overly cheesy, like one of the big jokes was the hamster has huge eyes - not funny. Funny People was great. It was funny and had dramatic moments that brought something different to his films. Just stop watching the movie once he goes to Leslie Mann's house and you'll like it more. But that blame falls on Judd Apatow. His third act usually drags. Grown Ups 2 was alright and I thought That's My Boy was stupid but pretty funny.
And no, I agree that people should try something different. James Wan, for instance, is one of my favorite horror directors. I was upset he's not making any 'cause he's so good at it, but I'd like to see him try his hat in different genres to see if he has the stuff. But some people should stick with what they know. I support Sandler whenever he tries to take on dramatic roles, but will continue to enjoy his comedies.

From his Opera Man on SNL to present day I never found him funny, inventive, talented or appealing. His movies from what I've seen are stupid, determinedly low brow, one-note and rely on audiences who find stupidity funny. What's not to like!

Adam Sandler has a few issues going for him.. he has a very similar act in all his movies.. He says corny jokes, makes a few faces and that is pretty much all he does in 99% of his movies, except the few dramatic movies he's been making the last couple of years in an attempt to show he has some range as an actor.
Add on top the fact that he doesn't hide the fact he's Jewish and lots of people for one reason or another have nothing but ill feelings for Jewish people.
Personally I think his earlier movies were amazing, but his recent movies leave alot to be desired as his spiel has gotten old.
His movies aren't really bad, but they aren't really funny anymore either.. The worst thing about a comedy is not being funny..
Sandler's time in the sun has pretty much past him by. In all honesty he should more or less focus on being in ensemble movies where he isn't the main focus, but a part of a larger cast of stars..
That's just my two cent, not that anyone will care anyway lol

I grew up a huge fan but 2004 was his last really good year. I think people dislike him because he went down the easy big paycheck road. Eddie Murphy is just as guilty.

Not a fan of Adam Sandler overall. I don't get the appeal

Adam Sandler is the only actor I know of who nobody hates, thus I don't see how it's possibly that 'everyone hates Adam'. It would be more accurate to ask, why does everyone love Adam, but I suppose he's just a very lovable, charismatic guy.

Adam Sandler is the only thing with/in/around movies I can't stand. After Water Boy (not saying that movie is funny, but it was okey) he has beep up every movie. Look at the movie Big Daddy, Mr Deeds and Click. Okey plot. Pretty okey script. But the acting of Sandler is making the entire movie suck.
He is always the same. Always making does stupid sounds when he gets mad. And always doing the same beep all the time.
Dont misunderstand me. I understand why he is doing it. To make money. But why the directors or producers will work with this beep actor. I will never know.
Im just think Jim Carrey doing Sandlers characters. It wood have helped all of the films. Or Eddie Murphy. Maybe Chris Rock. Everyone is better then him. Worst actor in the historie of movie making. probably the most terrible actor from teater as well.

Yah, as others pointed out, he's paid a lot in films that bombed.
Why do I hate him? Cuz I've seen 3 of his movies, and that's 3 reasons to hate him Oh wait, I don't hate Adam. I just hate the movies, and the people involved in them, and the people acting in them, and the people producing them. Oh yeah, I DO HATE HIM!!!

Good movies (Big Daddy etc.) but Adam Sandler is a bad actor. He is always the same and not funny. Totally agreed. I don't hate him but he ruins all the movies which star him.
