Before I start let me state that I am a gay man and gay right activist. I was involved in the New York City gay rights movement from the early 1980s through the year 2000. Harvey Firestein is an abomination! I had the unfortunate duty of being camera operator for a gay TV news show that did and interview with him in the early 1990s. This person is one of the most obnoxious human being on the face of the earth. He is rude, crude, egotistical, vulgar and in no way represent anyone in the gay community. He's just a ditzy queen who managed (and it is still a mystery how) to get famous and act as a "spokesperson for gays every where in America.
HE DOES NOT REPRESENT ME OR ANY OTHER GAY OR LESBIAN PERSON. He is an ego-centric, angry, rude a-hole who think he is god's answer for a gay icon. what he really is - is a terrible person who represent his one selfish and obnoxious interests. He no more represents the gay community they OJ Simpson represents the black community!
He should be be black balled throughout the industry and told to pack his bags and go back to the drunken stupor that fits his disgusting personalty.
Do I sound bitter I AM! During that infamous interview he was so mean, insensitive, and down obnoxious I was sad to to think he was perceived as a gay icon. He is not a icon just a bitter frustrated butthole who sould have been left drunken in the gutter of the bar he emerged from.
He was a personal hero of mine before that interview but after I could only see the creep who festered under his gluttonous lazy exterior. He might be funny at time and have a gravelly voice that propelled him to fame, but he will always be the rude queen who believes he is better the rest of the community he is supposed to represent.
I wish producers and directors would see the truth of his personality and relegate him to bit parts as the a-hole characters that fit his personality better.
He makes the black actor "Steppin Fetchit" look PC.
Go away Harvey. Go back to those back room and try those rude comments on the tricks who will NEVER ever find you attractive!

We know. It's only xenophobic, brain-dead twats that think gays on tv are representative of all gay people. And who gives a beep what they think. Those with brains know all gays aren't attention whorey, fluttering fairies. -
