He was a man who loved the outdoors, and bowling, and as a surfer he explored the beaches of southern California from La Jolla to Leo Carillo, and up to Pismo. He died.. he died as so many young men of his generation before his time, and in your wisdom, Lord, you took him. Just as you took so many bright, flowering young men at Khe San, and Lan Doc, and Hill 364. These young men gave their lives, and so did Peter. Peter who loved bowling. And so, Peter Henry Fonda.. in accordance with what we think your dying wishes might well have been….we commit your final mortal remains to the bosom of the Pacific Ocean, which you loved so well. I don't quite know why. I am so pissed off! I don't even know what to do with this anger. This past week is a big hurt. It's depressing. Maybe it's the fact that Woodstock happened this week 50 years ago. It is the same with Easy Rider. So much happened in 1969. So much is suddenly gone. I'll snap out of this, but it will take a few days… I hope!

I feel ya Margo. Funny how we feel acquainted…even familiar with these entertainers. When they go they sometimes take a bit of us with them I believe. Not much…just that wee hollow space deep inside. The void I guess
We're about a month away from Dewey's anniversary. There again… not really someone we knew…but such a loss regardless.
I guess the missing part is what made the connection real…the pain is the price we pay

I don't normally dwell on this death. Anyone who does that isn't living. I guess it's just the passage of time and realizing just how quickly it all goes.
I think you are right about celebrities. Thhey aren't people we know, and yet, we have seen their movies and photos for so long, they really are a part of our lives. Here's to Peter, and Here is to times gone by, and Here is to the rest of our lives! May they be the best yet!
