Yes, you have already mentioned some of my favourites, including THE HIRED HAND, EASY RIDER, THE LIMEY and ULEE'S GOLD.
I also like PEPPERMINT FRIEDEN a lot. I think it's sad so few Americans seem to know that one. Probably because it is not common to watch foreign language movies (in this case, German) with subtitles, in the USA. You are really missing a lot of great movies, I think!

Thanks for the "Peppermint Frieden" tip!
I just checked it out here on IMDB and saw it had a user rating of 8.1! That is VERY high, actually the same as the # 100 on the top 100 movies of all time. (But with only 30 votes it won't be on that list, of course).
Whare did that movie hide for all those years? Now, I just need to figure out where to get hold of it. Does anyone know where?

The only place I have found copies of "Peppermint-Frieden" for sale is here:
        http://www.dfi.dk/sitemod/moduler/katalog/filmside.asp?pid=8670&filmid=13502
        (click "kb film")
It's a PAL-VHS, and in the original language (German).

I'm a huge drive-in movie fan, so my all-time favorite Peter Fonda films are "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry," "Race With the Devil," "Fighting Mad," and "Outlaw Blues." Both "The Hired Hand" and "Ulee's Gold" are beautiful films, "92 in the Shade" is absolutely hilarious, and "Dance of the Dwarves" is good trashy B-horror creature feature fun. Moreover, "The Limey" is a truly terrific movie and "The Wild Angels" rates as a truly kick-ass biker classic.

My favorite is OPEN SEASON with John Phillip Law & Richard Lynch. I know Peter has remarked that it is one of his favorites, I think he is brilliant in the role and more wears it like a 2nd skin more than acting. His performance is easily the most frightening of the three, it totally plays against his established character but at the same time seems so natural.
I also really really like RACE WITH THE DEVIL, there is something about Peter Fonda doing the driving while Warren Oates pumping a shotgun that has a big red stamp on it that says 'COOL!'
I am also strangely drawn to JUNGLE HEAT/DANCE OF THE DWARVES (horror is my bag) with those scenes of him padding around the jungle in a white linen suit.
And of course DIRTY MARY CRAZY LARRY, what a great team!

3:10 to Yuma. Not a perfect film but Fonda, Ben Foster, Crowe and Bale are all good. Fonda is so badass he takes a bullet in the belly (art imitating life) and is up, about, and badass approximately 3 minutes later. It's really a classic Western

The Wrong Man was Peter Fonda's best work. You don't believe me? Go to The Wrong Man site and read the comments. That is where I saw that nugget of information. I looked it up. Peter Fonda was around 16 when The Wrong Man was filmed.
