Actress Edie Falco, played Carmela Soprano on "The Sopranos"
"I am shocked and devastated by Jim's passing. He was a man of tremendous depth and sensitivity, with a kindness and generosity beyond words. I consider myself very lucky to have spent 10 years as his close colleague. My heart goes out to his family, as those of us in his pretend one hold onto the memories of our intense and beautiful time together. The love between Tony and Carmela was one of the greatest I've ever known."
Actor Michael Imperioli, played Christopher Moltisanti on "The Sopranos"
"Jimmy treated us all like family with a generosity, loyalty and compassion that is rare in this world. Working with him was a pleasure and a privilege. I will be forever grateful having had a friend the likes of Jimmy."
Actress Jamie Lynn Sigler, played Meadow Soprano on "The Sopranos"
"This news has left me heartbroken. I can only imagine the pain his family feels at this time, and my heart goes out to them, especially Deborah, Michael and Liliana. I spent 10 years of my life studying and admiring one of the most brilliant actors, yes, but more importantly one of the greatest men. Jim had the ability, unbeknownst to him, to make you feel like everything would be alright if he was around. I treasure my memories with him and feel so honored that I was an up close witness to his greatness." -

Actress Aida Turturro, played Janice on "The Sopranos"
"I've not only lost a great friend, but a true brother, on screen and off. James was the most generous actor to work with, but more so, a man with a heart of gold. I love him and my heart goes out to his family."
Actress Lorraine Bracco, played Dr. Jennifer Melfi on "The Sopranos"
"We lost a giant today. I am utterly heartbroken." -

I was friends with Tony in Los Angeles (before he hit Sopranos) and I have to tell you, he was so MUCH like Paulie (except he didn't shoot people, that I know of). He made me laugh all the time! He dressed like that, good suits and expensive ties (but always a little too wide for current fashion). He said fgai and a few Italian curse phrases I won't mention here. He did say bada-bing so the name of the strip club on the show made me laugh too.
Tony has a big heart and I'm sure he suffered (and the whole cast and crew) suffered from a shock not unlike a wartime experience to hear that James Gandolfini died suddenly in Italy.
My prayers are for Mr. Gandolfini's family and for the cast and crew of the show. He had just had seen the Pope so I hope I will one day see James in Heaven.
This positively infantile preoccupation with bosoms!Terry-Thomas about US 1963.Hasnt changed much! -

Actor Robert Iler, played A.J. Soprano on "The Sopranos"
"I haven't cried in years and now I can't stop. Please tell me this is all a bad dream. I love you so much James and always will.
Actress Drea de Matteo, played Adriana La Cerva on "The Sopranos"
"Fughedabout losing one of the best actors of our time. We lost so much more. Anyone from the Soprano family will tell you he was one of the most generous, real and humble human beings ever, with a presence that could shatter planets when he walked into a room. A King through and through. So very sorry for his family."
Crew members of "The Sopranos"
"He was the head of the Soprano family on and off the screen. He took care of us all no matter who we were. His generosity was limitless. There are no words to truly describe how much he was loved and how much he will be missed!" -

Actor David Proval, played Richie Aprile on "The Sopranos"
I couldnt have asked for any better actor or better gentleman to work with, said David Proval, who played Tonys brother in law and Season 2 rival Richie Aprile. His generosity was unmatched. He was always right there for me during the show. I very much enjoyed working with him. He even tried to keep me alive on the show for another season. It was a head-spinning experience for everyone, yet he always found the time for me and everyone on the cast.
