    It's strange she gave up acting so early in her career. She could have done a lot more great movies after 1941. Too bad.

      I agree, it is too bad.
      But, I have to admit I don't really care for movies made before the 1950s and widescreen because they tend to fall flat for me, and be so predictable. Yet, at the same time, I do enjoy some of the stars from pre-1950s films, because by the time the 50s rolled around, most of the stars of the 30s and 40s then possessed a maturity and grandeur that they hadn't known before due to their age.
      But with Garbo, it's different. It's like she was always mature. She was always grand. And I do wish she would've made more films.
      Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

        while some people say that she bowed out in her prime in a clever move (she didn't age well), i will always wonder what her next film or films would have been. even if they were flops, i still would have liked to have seen her in more films. i really wish she had made more
