I think it's good that he is able to poke fun of himself.
Actors who take themselves too seriously -especially when they've past the peak of their careers- tend to not get roles. Plus, people start to do the lampooning for them.
Look at William Shatner. For years, he took himself far too seriously and thus was only working on
      Star Trek
      sequels or
      Rescue 911
. But, once he finally learned to poke fun at himself, he's had a major career revival.
Then there's Adam West. For years, he's been willing to poke fun at his own image. The result is that he's more in demand than ever.
Maybe Hamilton should do a guest shot on
      Family Guy
as the brother-in-law of Mayor Adam West.

I agree with the Adam West - William Shatner comment. And my wife and I watched ZORRO, THE GAY BLADE last night. Comic freakin' genius!

He may have been miscast in The Godfather Part III but his character was totally appropriate. He was essentially the stand-in for Tom (Robert Duvall) when Robert Duvall decided not to do Godfather Part III. Just replace Hamilton with Duvall and the role makes sense.
Now, its not a great role, and you can see why Duvall wasn't interested. But that's another story. Duvall apparently wanted to expand it to 2nd lead with Pacino, and make the story primarily about the relationship/conflict between Michael and Tom. But Coppola didn't want that, so Duvall wasn't interested and declined. Which, to me, makes sense; it would hav111ce been weird to put Oscar-winner Duvall into such a supporting role just for the sake of tradition. Though as a fan I would have liked it.
But Hamilton was fine in Godfather. Better than Sofia Coppola, Talia Shire, or Eli Wallach for example.

he is certainly not one of the worst in acting history.
I beg to say that the show you are watching was one of the cheesiest in the world. How anyone could take it seriously is beyond me. but then that was the 80s. That whole decade in Hollywood history, including the shoulder pads, was a bit much.
At this point in his life he is perfect for tongue in cheek roles. Any role that is way over the tophe would be great as a lawyer on Boston Legal. Can't you just see it? Trying to woo Shirley? (Candice Bergen)
I think he is hilarious. he reminds me of William Shatner in the types of roles they can both do. Or 30 Rock!! Tina Fey you have got to call him.
I really hope the best for George. He is one of a kind.

I am watching "Act One" right now, and Hamilton is performing beautifully. Whenever someone says that an actor, musician or any other type of performer is bad, I am reminded of a documentary I saw about guitartist Keith Richards. He lay down his guitar in front on him, looked at the documentary crew and said, "All of you blokes playing your air guitar, you think you're so great. Pick it up. Go ahead. Play it. Let's see what you've got."
I feel the same way about people criticizing actors. After a lifetime as a movie and TV variety show fan, I thought acting would be easy and fun. Then I had a second lead in a fun little musical comedy. I was so awful, I even changed accents from the first act to the second! I still don't know why I did something so idiotic. It was tough.

Nah. Of course we should all mock you for watching Danielle Steele stuff in the first place. Hamilton is a terrific comedic actor.
