George Tried to Get Me Fired!

George Hamilton called the public phone number of a posh Beverly Hills store that my office intercepts calls for. He was demanding that some merchandise be messengered over about 5 minutes before the store closed. In fact I think he wanted it sent to someone other than himself, which the store couldn't authorize anyway, let alone in 5 minutes. I calmly explained all of this and he started pulling major rank and demanding that I get my supervisor to the phone etc. He was almost hysterical and kept asking if I know who he is..especially because I said yes and then didn't change my answer. He eventually hung up on me and that was that. A few months later, I visited that store to say hello since we work with them by telephone all day, and they were all shocked when I said my name. They all knew me because the next day George Hamilton went in to the store all angry demanding that I be brought out to be fired! I almost felt famous because a famous (all though decidedly b-list) person was obviously stewing over me all evening! The joke is on him though, if he were famous enough or enough of a good customer, he would have had the private internal store phone #.
