Ventura was scheduled to begin a long program with Hogan in late 1984, but his health issues ended that. Steamboat was penalized for wanting time off after his big win over Savage at Mania 3. He never regained his momentum in the WWF after that. Had he been more career-minded at that time, we probably would have eventually gotten Steamboat/Hogan, but it still worked out well for Steamboat going to WCW.

Someone said about Hogan wrestling Kevin or Kerry Von Erich. That would have been nice. But out of the Von Erich's to wrestle Hulk Hogan. I would have picked David Von Erich.
Everyone that worked with David always talked about how David had the "It" factor about him. David had the look and build. David had the ring psychology to tell a story in and out of the ring. David's skills on the mic were perfect.
And rumor had it that Vince McMahon 5b4tried to hire David Von Erich around the same time he hired Hulk Hogan. The plans were to have Hulk and David as his top two stars. -
