If you think about it, he is right to say booking those matches would suck.
Could you actually imagine how Hogan vs Bret Hart would go as a main event?
Hogan is a powerhouse character that works slow and does tests or strength and all that stuff What would it be like against Bret Hart? Hart was a small athletic character that Hogan would squash in strength tests and who would have to change their style up to put the other over? Hogan watch Bret run circles around him or Hogan looking stupid trying to keep up with Harts pace?
It would have to have one down to some stupid interference angle or disqualification because the two names might have drawn a huge crowed, but there is a valid reason why Hogan said Hart was not on his level It's not because of popularity or whatever Bret whined about, when you think about it, the match would have sucked. And they did, because no one even remembers their fueds and tags in the dying days of WCW. -

However that is just in that case at the moment in time during 1993.
In other cases Hogan is a prick for not wanting to headline with Jake The Snake because Jake probably would have stolen Hulks thunder and become an earlier version of the heel fan fav like Austin became a few years later.
