I used to live in Palm Springs when I was a baby, that was back in 1981
One day, my parents and I were out on a walk by a golf course. Bob came up to me in my stroller and just started talking to me and pushed me around in my stroller for a few minutes. It was really cool but too bad I can't remember that. Darn it

I never met Hope, but my Dad saw (but didnt meet) Hope several times, when my Dad was working as a taxi/town car/limo driver in Orlando. He said that everyone down where he worked had heard the story of how one of their fellow drivers had chauffeured Hope around one night. Once the chauffer drove Hope to a good restaurant, Hope invited the driver in and treated him to a nice meal at his table. I think this shows how down to earth he was and what a nice guy he could be. (On the other hand, all the drivers would talk about how Dick Gephardt would never tip; theyd call him Gyp-hardt)

I met Bob Hope in May of 1956, when he was a first class passenger on the Queen Mary going from New York to Southampton. I was with my parents in second class, I heard that he was on the boat and I went over to the first class section to see him. I was 12, he was very nice to me.

I met Bob Hope in a book store in about 1987. He was siging one of his books on golf. I took pictures of him and shook his hand. I'm so glad I had the chance to meet him. I still have his autographed book. What an impressive life he had, he had entertained so many people!

I was a helicopter pilot in the Army for 22 years, but the only time I ever actually saw Bob Hope was on the golf course. I went to the Bob Hope Classic in 1985, it was one of my dream vacations. I was standing just outside the back door at Tamarisk when I heard that voice behind me saying "When's the car going to be here Arnie?". It was Bob Hope and Arnold Palmer waiting for their ride. I almost choked. All I could think of to say was "Mr. Hope, I'm a soldier. Thanks for everything." It sounded so lame, but he gave me a big smile and said he loved doing what he could for the soldiers.
Arnold asked me if I was enjoying the tournament, then shook my hand and they turned away and started talking to someone else. I had just met two of my greatest heros, if John Wayne or Chuck Yeager had been standing there too I would have probably had a stroke on the spot. -

I was living in Houston in 1987 and I was invited to go to a golf tournament. I really wanted to go and meet Phil Harris and while I was waiting in the country club for Mr Harris when Bob Hope walks in, a couple guys were standing around and I walked over and shook his hand and introduced myself. I was able to talk to him for about 10 min and then he had to leave to go meet some other people at the tournament, then Mr Harris walked in and I got to spend about 30 min with him and talking about his career and about Jack Benny( I am a Huge Jack Benny fan) and then a photogapher came and took our picture. Alas I was not able to find the Photogapher later,b68 but Mr Harris did take my name and address down and sent me a Picture with his and Alice Faye's autograpgh. That was one of the best days of my life, meeting Bob Hope and Phil Harris. Wish I could find that photogapher.

Bob Hope was my call party at a restaurant outside LA for several years in the 1980's when I was a waiter. He would always come in with his daughter. Linda. He was reasonably pleasant but incredibly cheap. He would only leave $4.00 on a $55.00 tab. I always thought it was amazing he was so cheap, considering he was practically a billionaire with a "b." And believe me, the service he received from me and the bus boys was primo.

I met Bob Hope at the 1985 LPGA (now the State Farm Classic) held in Springfield, Il.he had just written and was publicizing his latest book, and also played a few holes, and could still hit the ball pretty well at 82 years of ageI got an autograph and a short conversation with himIt was a hot summer day, and he seemed a little tired at the time, but was very graciousPeace be with him..
