God, was he cute. and not too tall for me, a 5'10" giantess; i do not like what happened to him at the end of "the green berets," an asinine movie i watched only to confirm its lousy reputation. i certainly don't blame jim hutton for its lousi5b4ness, or even for being in the damn thing; hey, an actor has to work, right? but he still makes my heart thump. his baby face and gangly body and oh that turned-up nose! why did he have to die so young and in such a painful way? perhaps we'll meet in the great beyond

I wonder how someone so young could get liver cancer? Was he a big drinker? Does anyone know?

Allegedly, per two old newspaper clippings somewhere around 62 or 64, he had a problem drinking after his first divorce. If he any problem, it didn't seem to affect his acting. He was great in Ellery Queen. I know a lady who never drank alcohol because of her beliefs, and she died of liver cancer, so drinking may have absolutely nothing to do with it.

I agree. I developed a big crush on Jim after seeing Walk Don't Run. The man is absolutely gorgeous! Devastated that he died so young

Has anybody ever seen him in "Who's Minding the Mint?" A great comedy, a forgotten classic.

I just saw this movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It's absolutely hilarious! Definitely one of the funniest movies ever made. 🙂 🙂
Jim Hutton as Ellery Queen - totally hot!

AwwwI'm only 35 years old, and I think that he's adorable! The Ellery Queen series is now on DVD, and I love to watch him in that! 🙂

Hi, Mrs. Ellery Queen, wherever you are!
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Remembering Jim Hutton on his birthday.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

I not only remember Jim Hutton… I remember Mrs. Ellery Queen, the poster up above from the IMDb days as well.
                            I liked her a lot.
Well, Woody, are you ready for tomorrow? I didn't forget!
I plan to wish you a Happy Birthday. I plan to encourage everyone else to make their own Happy Birthday posts as well.

Long live Jim Hutton! He reminded me so much of James Stewart. His son reminded me a bit of Jimmy Stewart in Turk 182! (1985) and Tim looked just like Jim in Taps (1981).
