She looks so much better as a brunette she was so attractive when she was young.

Don't really know but here's a thought maybe because she is a mature lady and may have a problem with grey hair, it looks better to lighten one's hair so the grey doesn't show as much and doesn't have to color as often. And I feel that as a woman ages, dark hair looks so fake but lighter colors look more natural. I also think she looks more beautiful now than when she was younger. She has aged beautifully since Carrie.

My mom has said the same, about blonde hair. Yet, she also says it is HOW your hair gets colored. She does her own hair, dark, all the time and it looks great!

The darker hair sets off her blue eyes more

No, I'm afraid I must agree. The blonde may help with graying hair, but it looks unnaturally unflattering, and makes Amy look pale and drawn. I believe if she were to go back to brunette and stop the tight perms, the look would be much more flattering and enhance her beauty.

I don't know, but I find it rather unflattering.
I see this a lot with women once they start getting gray. But instead of going with their natural color, or allowing the gray, for some reason, they go with this very FAKE version of what resembles peroxide-blonde. In most cases, it makes said women look older and harder than if they went back to their natural brunette.
Amy doesn't look good at all in the fake blonde.
Entertainment and politics I see Ellsworth Toohey is winning

Bottle blonde almost NEVER looks good on a natural brunette. Irving looks washed out with blonde hair. She should definitely go darker.

I do think it's the gray thing. If you die your hair black you then have gray roots standing out. I could be wrong. I think though, she looks much more beautiful with darker hair. Not that it matters in reality.

I agree it could be a "roots thing". Which is why so many older women go with a strange version of blonde when they age, since blonde shows roots less.
However, I find it unappealing, in most cases, and would rather see a woman with her natural gray than a fake blonde.
