He was innocent. And trust me, I'd be the first person to scream pedo.
With Michael, it was about his mental health. He was abused so bad as a kid and never had a childhood. All he wanted was to give children the childhood he never had.
That's not to say it wasn't odd that he had kids over as an adult.
Just looking at videos with him playing with other kids at his home, he was a gentle giant. And Macaully Culkin would have said if he abused him. Look at the life he had. He was a mess for years, and not once did he blame Michael. ‍️
