Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Neil Jordan

I'm not talking about screenwriter/directors I'm talking about authors who direct their own movie adaptations. Neil Jordan (to my knowledge) hasn't directed a film version of any of his books. I know there are at least one or two people who've done it but can anyone name any?

Elia Kazan's AMERICA AMERICA and THE ARRANGEMENT were based on his own novels.
Michael Crichton wrote and directed THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY from his own book and also directed some of THE 13TH WARRIOR.
Norman Mailer directed TOUGH GUYS DON'T DANCE.
Sam Fuller went the opposite way and novelized some of the films he directed (THE BIG RED ONE, DEAD PIGEON ON BEETHOVEN ST, THE NAKED KISS) and some he wasn't able to get off the ground (CROWN OF INDIA, QUINT'S WORLD).
