People it's killing me..please stop with "ghandi". For god's sake it's GANDHI people and you don't have to be a genius to know that one.

I would say, undeniably, "Death and the Maiden." His monologue to Sigourney Weaver at the end of it is one of the finest pieces of acting I've ever seen.

My opinion is that he was the greatest in "Gandhi". It's also his best movie as the main character.

Yeah, it's going to be BloodRayne. It will mark the beginning of the end of a once brilliant career. I love Ben Kingsley but I hate to see great actors do "just for the money" roles.

                                          House of Sand and Fog.
Of course it is just opinion, so you can't dare tell me I am wrong and say Ghandi was better. I can tell you why it was House of Sand and Fog, too.
When I watch a movie, I know it is a movie. When I was watching (numerous times) House of Sand and Fog, especially near the end when his son gets killed, I actually forgot it was a movie and was sucked into his character. Never have I been moved so much, I could nearly feel what he was feeling. He blurred the lines of acting and reality right there, never have I seen such a performance before.
