He could very well fit that description but you certainly don't know if that is the case or not so to even make such a statement when you have no clue is pretty damn presumptuous. Its only ironic if its true and you said its ironic which means your assuming it is true. The big difference between their posts is that one is actually making ridiculous statements16d0 about how he doesn't know if he could ever work with Ben. Sorry to say but the odds that someone who posts regularly on IMDb would refuse to work with any world famous actor of Ben's stature are, well lets just say nothing short of astronomical unless of course he is actually some world famous director who is posing as a IMDb regular, NOT!! The fact that he/she doesn't even know Ben personally and is making such a statement based of off nothing but hearsay is just utterly ridiculous.
I am sorry but when you make statements like that you can expect to be called out, and rightfully so, especially on these boards. -

what he said on craig ferguson's show, he said he thinks being a knighted because it give him a passport to act an informal ambassador of England in South East Asia and other place and as envoy and that it's helped him doing humanitarian work. He said he is very honoured by it and sees it as a responsibility to use it to do good works. He actually said he hope doesn't sound pompous.

That's exacly the reason why I'm not getting excited by actors' private life. Come on, you're going to change your attitude towards the actor because of something like this? Get a grip people, you'll probably never meet them anyway. I thought the whole idea was to focus on actor's work, not their private life. I'd go crazy if I had to think what an beep actor I watch right now is. They're not like spiritual leaders, you know.

I couldn't agree more. If anything you people sound like a bunch of jealous fools. Who gives a rats behind what he does or what he is like outside of films. I mean its not like hes a midnight serial killer or anything. As long as hes abiding the law an paying his taxes then who cares. I don't watch films based off of how people act in real life. I go to movies to see how they act on screen and Sir Ben is one of the best actors of this generation. an actor is lucky to give just one performance like that of Ghandi or Schindlers List.
The fact that people are making such a big deal about this is beyond ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and start paying more attention to people in your own life and stop caring so much about what some actor is doing outside of the films he acts in. Hell if there is one reason why actors and actresses feel so damn important its because common folk like yourselves obsess over every little thing they do. This thread is just more proof of that. It really just gives me the impression that some of you simply have no life so you obsess about people that do have a life. Get your own life and be happy with who you are and you wont give a flying f#@% what some actor is doing in Hollywood, even if you do watch his films. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being a fan and following someone's work or becoming interested in what they do outside of acting but things like this thread are completely ridiculous.
Ill clue you guys into something, actors and actresses are human and no matter how high you put them on a pedestal they are still only human. Guess what, some humans are egotistical, some suffer from depression, some end up committing suicide and some live very normal lives. You dont even have to go to Hollywood to see some of these characteristics in people. Hell I live next door to an ego maniac. Of course being a multi millionaire and being world famous would certainly increase the odds that an individual would take on characteristics like egotism. If you people really think egotism is rare in Hollywood then your simply clueless about Hollywood and movie making in general. Movie Stars have Ego's period.
So again I for one don't give a rats behind how egotistical Ben is. All I do care about is that he performs well in the movies that I pay to see that happen to have him in it. Nothing else matters to me and it shouldnt matter to any of you either. -

Well said. That should give some people the general idea what are they actually saying or how it looks like. If they don't get it, OK - not my problem. But, beg you guys, at least write no more of this stuff about stars' egos when with this ridiculous thinking you're making it swell even bigger.

Well, I met him in 2000 at a Michael Cain lifetime achievement award ceremony in london. I was talking to him with a mate about working with Roman Polanski and half way through the conversation he saw Bob hoskins and walked over to him without finishing what he was saying to us.
Rude, but funny.
