They were supposedly going to run it the weekend of July 30 b5b4ut then didn't. I'll keep my eye out and let you know. I absolutely love her character. She is a pivotal part of the story.

Have you seen The Thorn Birds before? If you have and liked it, then I would suggest getting the DVD. It is well worth the $24.95 on amazon.com, IMO!!

I read the novel as a kid, and saw The Thornbirds when it was first on TV, and not since then, so I am having trouble remembering Piper Laurie in it at all! I remember thinking Bryan Brown being perfectly cast as the foil to Richard Chamberlain, exactly as the book described both characters, and Barbara Stanwyck was perfect also. Now why can't I recall Piper's character, was she the mother? That was a perfect miniseries, like Rich Man, Poor Man, maybe even betterI hope I get WE, have to check on that..

Smoke0, please come over to the imdb boards on The Thorn Birds!!! We all agree there, that it was a perfect mini-series! Some of us are quite obsessed!
We love new people's perspectives on the series. Thanks and hope to see you there!!
