        I completely agree. I think she did a GREAT performance as 'Margaret White', the Sissy Spacek`s mother in "Carrie". She had been deserves an Oscar for that character!

              i argee with u ,piper was good in the movie carrie and return to oz,
              shes my #2 best actress, i loved the way piper dies in carrie with all
              those knifes in the hands

                      Piper Laurie made a number of outstanding filmsand t.v. films. Both THE HUSTLER and TIM were first rate; I think her finest performance in her finest movie was THE GRASSS HARP. Her ROAD TO GALVESTON was spectacular. She won awards for her hole in THE THORN BIRDS, a great supporting performance in PROMISES, and anotHEr for CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOas well as aweares for CAIRREand thos were awards, not just nominations.
