I agree with you. Her performance in Carrie completely took my breath away. She plays the character so well that you can almost smell her insanity. She's fabulous.

I totally agree with all of you. She is so good you can indeed literally almost smell the insanity. I recently saw The Faculty and although she wasn't in it that much she was great.

I agree. Piper Laurie is incredible. I've never seen her in a bad performance. She is so convincing in each and every role.
              Thanks,
              Jeff

I first saw the film CARRIE about sixteen years ago and I've been a Piper Laurie fan ever since. I've seen so much of her work over the years and just as a few people on this thread have pointed out I have never seen Laurie deliver a poor performance. Certainly her material hasn't always been the greatest, but that hasn't stopped her from delivering 100% every time.

yeah my God was she amazing as Carrie's mother. Now that is how you do over the top in a good way. And from interviews she seemed really cool like she didn't take it too seriously she played it as a satire and it was her idea to do all that smiling in her death scene which to me made it more scary then the way they always do it in horror movies with the person just screaming and dying.

I hope it was also her idea when she was dying to make all those orgasm sounds. That's what makes me love that scene.
