I have severe dyslexia. I have a very hard time with spelling. However I still want to post on these boards and be part of life. I hope people will look at the substance of what I am writing instead of choosing to make fun of me (hurt my feelings).

Some of us do look at the substance and not the artiface. You're fine, steviecam -

I actually didn't notice the misspelled words because I have very blurry eye site from an injury. Because of this, I read very quickly because I become frustrated trying to focus. Your writing seemed fine to me because the content was good. I'm glad you're out on the boards instead of hiding away because people can be cruel. My husband and I were talking about Long a few days ago. We believe that some TV actresses who are really great at what they do on TV (like Long) don't translate well to the big screen. I think Long left with the idea she was going to have a great movie career and that didn't seem to pan out as well. I'm hoping there are other projects in TV or even in movies, because she is entertaining.

Anybody remember Kate Mulgrew, who played the senator that Sam dated in Cheers during season 4? The interview I posted includes her and Shelley Long on the Howie Mandel Show, Kate mentions her time on Cheers and has some pretty high praise for Shelley.
Just thought I'd post this here rather than making a new topic. -

The subject of Shelley Long being a 'nightmare' to work with has always been a grey one for me. I've seen her in many interviews and she seems to have absolutely no side to her and comes across very genuine.
Bette Midler said on an Oprah interview after 'Outragious Fortune' that working with Long was "rough", but quite frankly I've heard way worse about Bette Midler from co-stars. She's the ultimate stropey Diva. However, the fact Midler believed Long to be hard work did make me question what type of difficult Long was. Is it the case she just took herself a little seriously and was a perfectionist and constantly trying to improve things like that really harmless but annoying kid in the class who ends up getting bullied?
I do think Long (sadly) believed Hollywood wanted her as a film star when in reality they were simply cashing in on her profile as Diane from Cheers. All top sit-com stars get film roles during the run. Long was foolish in the sense she just played Diane Chambers in every part she did. Once she left Cheers her film career sunk because she wasn't in that part anymore. No5b4tice how Kirsty Alley then started getting film roles! -

I played her daughter in a TV movie in the early nineties. I was only 9 so of course I have no idea how she was to adults But to me she was wonderful and, as a young Cheers fan, it was such a pleasure working with her!! She even had tshirts and hats for all cast and crew with the title of the movie on them. And she even mailed me a Tshirt from the following TV movie she did some months later! She was great
