What do you think is Myrna Loy's worst picture?

Totally disagree with you guys on The Animal Kingdom. Loy does a terrific job playing a consummate "user" of a wife. I agree that it's hard to work up a whole lot of sympathy for Leslie Howard; I'd much rather have seen Fredric March in the part. Ann Harding I thought was okay, but this is one of Loy's best, most uncharacteristically unsympathetic and grown-up roles, and she handles it beautifully.
I agree, it's a very sensitive, well-written, well-acted and engaging film. I'm no Howard apologist, but it's one of his more bearable characterisations and Myrna is fine in it.
there was one i saw where she played this gypsy girl and it was so campy. forgot the name of it.
That's
The Squall
, which is simply an abomination, though nothing can touch
The Barbarian
in terms of sheer, teeth-aching awfulness. As the only Myrna film that attempts to justify rape, I'd like to c2000hampion it as the hands-down winner.

I vote for "Arrowsmith" boring, and most of Myrna's part has been cut, I think by censors. Sad.
I didn't enjoy "From the Terrace," but its awfully pleasant gazing at Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
And "Rogue of the Rio Grande" is pretty dreadful, but I suppose that's mostly because of technological limitations. Still, the portrayals of Mexicans are pathetic all around.

She gave the best performance in Animal Kingdom by far. I wanted her to lose Leslie Howard because I thought Myrna's character could do a hell of a lot better. Let him go off with the dreary Ann Harding. Howard's character was weak in that. As a husband, he brought nothing to the table.
I haven't seen any of her worst movies, but considering how they churned them out in the 1920s and 1930s, I'm sure there are some awful movies.
