Heavy Legs

I don't think her legs were "heavy" but there were rather unshapely and pinup or "leg art" of Myrna is pretty rare because she didn't really have that kind of "oomph". In the late 1920's Myrna Loy made a couple of island "sarong girl" roles and she had to wear a sarong but clearly she was ill at ease in garment and didn't have the legs and curves to pull it off like Dorothy Lamour did about ten years later. And so Myrna as "The Sarong Girl" was a flop while Dorothy in the role would be a sensation. (You can see pictures of Loy as the prototype Lamour in the book THE FILMS OF MYRNA LOY.)

I wouldn't say her legs are "unkindly fat".

Not even close to fat, nor are they unfortunate. It must've just been studio execs being idiots because she's a babe. -

I don't think they're heavy at all. They're graceful and they fit the rest of her gorgeous body well. Take a look at this clip of Myrna as an Oriental dancer in THE SHOW OF SHOWS (1929). Unfortunately, it's the only color film Myrna made before she became a grown woman:

Agreed. I thought her legs were "outstanding", to fit her very good form and beautiful eyes. Even at age 41, in the movie, the Best Years of Our Lives, I thought she looked great, making my head spin. In one scene of that film where Teresa Wright had apparently fallen in love with a married man (Dana Andrews) and subsequently declared to her parents (Loy and March) that she intended to destroy the marriage of Dana Andrews character with the outrageously attractive Virginia Mayo, so that she could be with him and vice-versa, I thought Dana Andrews should have rebounded with Myrna Loy and broken up her marriage with Frederic March.lol. A soap opera, but a very good movie. Myrna Loy was definitely an underrated actress and, definitely, a fine-looking one to boot with a great pair of gams.
