Was it Clark Gable? William Powell? Cary Grant? Or someone else?

"Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House" and "The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer" not so great??? You must have very high standards. Both movies are2000 four stars without a doubt and worth watching over and over again. The scene where Myrna Loy is picking out colors for the house in "Mr. Blandings" is priceless. That said, William Powell was easily her best co-star. The "Thin Man" series, "Libeled Lady," "Manhattan Melodrama," and several more - the chemistry between them sizzled every time they starred together. My favorite actors of all time.

Without a doubt, Clark Gable!
They weren't titled King and Queen of Hollywood for nothing! Both were skilled actors in their own respect, but when they were together on-screen, the chemistry was undeniable! -

DER! William Powell, ya silly!! While Clark Gable is hot, I think Myrna is too likeI don't know, clever for him. He needs peoples like Jean Harlowwho is smart, but just not like, as classy as Myrna. I love Cary Grant to death, but his and Myrna's comedy clashed. They were two different styles. Now we find us a Nick and Nora CharlesI mean, Will and Myrna, and WE HAVE A WINNER!!

Oh Powell all the way! I mean, Myrna was good with Clark and Cary, but Bill Powell was THE best. Their comedy suited each other, they had the best chemistry and just looked so COOL together! These two have to be my fave actors!

Hand's down, William Powell! I mean, seriously, can't you picture them as a couple. They were both classy and sophisticated. Myrna was the perfect foil for Wm.Powell. She was calm and kind and so understanding. Nora never nagged Nick. And he had the utmost respect for her, treating her like gold. I've seen and have all the Thin Man movies in addition to Evelyn Prentice, Manhattan Melodrama, Double Wedding, Love Crazy, Libeled Lady, and I Love You Again. These two incredible, remarkable people are wonderful together. I love the Golden Era of Hollywood, and Myrna and Bill's films are supreme!

You can't mention one without saying the other in the next breath. Of course it's William and Myrna. Their relationship tingles with sexual tension in their first filmManhattan Melodrama and they ride the roller coaster through all 14 movies. They are the perfect team. I would have loved to see her in a romantic film with Jimmy Stewart since he adored her so, but Powell was my favorite pairing.

She's just so amazing, isn't she?
William Powell, most definitelythey're my favorite screen couple of all times; they put modern actors to shamebut she was great with Fredrick Marchthe scene where he first gets up in the morning is great and so is the one where he gets drunkand Clifton Webbshe was such a great foil for him. I believed that they would be married; they seemed to balance each other out.
But my ideal world is the one in which everyone has as great of chemistry as Loy and Powell. They're perfection. -

Add a Bill Powell vote for me! I have all of their movies and I never get tired of seeing them. I also have around 20 other Loy films and 50 other Powell films and they were great with other co-stars, but never as good as they were with each other!!!! They apparently liked each other too, Loy even gave a great tribute to Powell in her book Being and Becoming, saying she never enjoyed her work more than when she worked with Bill Powell, so she probably would agree with us!!!!!

I'm with everybody that said William Powell, and then, as a second choice, Cary Grant. All three of these actors had a unique charm, and they worked well together. I'm a huge fan of these actors, and I will forever be indebted to FMC and TCM for playing those marvelous old films.
