I don't know why2000 she would regret turning down the Catherine Trammel role in Basic Instinct . After all, look at Sharon Stones career . Ginger (Casino) was the only decent role she ever had . Stones career never got THAT big .

Yes, Basic Instinct made Sharon Stone a star, but outside of her role in Casino, she never really did anything else that set the film world on fire. So, in some respect, Kelly indeed dodged a bullet by turning down that role.

It's not the role; but the actor\person and how they handle their own career. It could also be a factor of luck, personal attitude and how the actor handles and projects themselves around their peers and colleagues. Perhaps Stone was the harbinger of her own faded career, she would have had all the right connections.

She really turned down the Sharon Stone role in "Basic Instinct"? I'll bet she regrets that!!
Yes she was offered the role as Catherine Tramell. She turned it down. I asked her if she regretted it and she said no. She said she was more of a "Drugstore Cowboys kind of gal".
Personally, I love Basic Instinct and think it's criminally underrated. Sharon Stone's performance is one of the best acting jobs I've ever seen. I'm glad she did the movie and doubt anyone else could've been as good as her.
