Here is a link to a petition to keep the IMDB message boards open. It might not work, but it can't hurt to try:

Unfortunately, you have to pay to sign the petition - they expect a paypal donation which sucks. I signed but since I did not pay, I doubt my signature will count. I will stop using IMDb when they shut down thto boards. What will be th point when you can get info in so many other places?
Damn the snowflakes and the PC's who are shutting down all venues of free speech!

            You have to pay?
Nothing came up about paypal of paying when I signed it. And, when I pressed "sign petition," (after entering my info, and typing my comment) I got a message that my signature was counted. Since reading your message, I went back to the petition. I did not sign it again or anything. I just looked at it, I saw nothing on it indicating that you had to pay to sign.

              Hi camimac
This is what I get when I try to sign the petition:
              https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/petition-to-keep-the-imdb-messageboards-going/donate
When I press next, it goes here:
              https://www.paypal.com/webapps/hermes?token=0YR44122XH142234A&useraction=commit&rm=2&mfid=1486206788544_e434f02170d48#/checkout/login
              Am I doing something wrong?
. Because I'm not paying $25 to sign a petition.
This is such a bummer. I will certainly my never come back to IMDB and will stop using it. One of the best things about these boards was being able to find new TV shows or movies to watch. All of that will now disappear. I blame the PC snowflakes mob, like those people at Berkeley Uni who want to shut down opinions which they don 't agree with. They are the
              real
              trolls!
              I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!

Thanks but the ipetitions is the one which keeps asking for money. I've found it impossible to sign without it directing me to a PayPal site to "donate". No thank you!

All I can say is I don't know how or why that happened. Not only was I not told I had to pay, but after signing and seeing a message that said my signature was counted, I also received an email that said the following:
                    Hey there!
Thanks for signing a petition at iPetitions.com. Your signature is valuable and makes a real difference. Please encourage others to sign the petition and make it a success:
Post the petition on Facebook and Twitter. Here's the petition URL: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/petition-to-keep-the-imdb-messageboards-going
Forward the below text to anyone you know who might be interested
                    FORWARD THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS:
                    Hi,
I wanted to tell you about this petition that I just signed:
"Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going"
                    http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/petition-to-keep-the-imdb-messageboards-going
I really care about this cause, and I'd love it if you joined me in supporting it. It's free and takes just a few seconds of your time.
                    Thanks!
p.s. If you would like to start your own free petition, you can do so at
                    https://www.ipetitions.com/start-petition
At no point have I been told to pay anything. And even the "forward this to your friends message said it was free. So, I don't know why you were told to pay.

Is this posted on other boards? May help to get the word out. I will sign, for whatever good that will do, but I will sign, and hope it does some good. 🙂
I signed, got an error message, then another message that my signature had been recorded. They did ask for a donation, but only AFTER my signature was recorded. They are within 400 signatures of their 10,000 signature goal!

It won't do any good, IMO. They are determined to shut down the boards. I hope their traffic goes way down.
