Will you continue to come to IMdb after the boards shut down?

I'll looking up or reading about something. However Amazon's advertisers should know most of us won't be "hanging around" nearly as long as we used to.

I pretty much have to. They have the most comprehensive and generally up to date information on people I have to work with or contact. 2000
I absolutely hate the fact they plan to shut down the boards, and I hope our protests make them reconsider. They will lose a lot of people if they don't. -

I'm afraid they won't give a damn what we want, unfortunately. It's all about shutting down negative opinions and probably because they don't make much money off these boards. It's a pity. Everything in life shouldn't be about money. And also because they want to herd people into Twitter and FB. Forget about that for me - I don't want my life posted online. It's a great way for governments and corporations to control you.

As a former alumni and not necessarily a regular nor possibly welcomed one for my in your face opinions, I am of 2 minds on the closing of these boards. One I won't miss the trolls and the dead horse beaters. And two will miss the intelligent and thoughtful conversations minus the drool mopping up.
After a long hiatus, popping into various boards here and there when I learned of the closures is reason enough to understand why IMDb is shutting them down.
Have a great life folks! It's been a slice!

Wow, this is a surprise! I don't reply on the message boards that much, but I do read them for alot of reasons. I like the Walking Dead, Games of Thrones, Survivor boards and a few others. I always rush to them to read people's reactions if someone gets killed or voted off or just to see if maybe they are not dead. And, like I said, for so many other things too. Hmm, guess it's facebook from now on. I'm going to miss Viggo's board also! Don't come here that often but still it was here when I wanted to and his board was the reason I became a member back in 2004.

I will probably still come to IMDb16d0, but no more than I'll go to sites like Wikipedia. Without the boards, the only thing I would come here for is to fact check information about a movie, a show or a celebrity basically the same thing I go to Wikipedia for.

Well if you Google something like the cast of a TV show or movie it's not IMdb that comes up first. And since it usually features pictures of everyone in said cast, there is no reason to come here. I think they will see their user count go down drastically because people won't be spending much time here. I agree with the theory that they were probably pressured to close the boards by the Hollywood Mafia because they didn't like user reviews or when people say a movie or actor are not good. A case in point is LaLa Land. Everyone I know who had seen it calls it a mediocre movie and no one can understand why it was nominated for thousands of Oscars. I'll give it a miss based on their opinions or maybe watch it online if I'm really bored.
I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!
