Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Viggo Mortensen

Is it me, or is Viggo one of those people that have trouble looking others directly in the eyes?
I'm sure you can cite many examples to the contrary, but that could just mean something like Peter Jackson saying "Okay, lets do that scene again, only this time Viggo the eyes thing again focus please."
I recently watched Eastern Promises and you can see it many times in that film.
Not that there's anything wrong with that I was just wondering if I'm the only one to notice it, or perhaps even I'm wrong.

I'm big on eye contact and don't even really like talking on the phone because I can't 'read' the person, but just in that vid he looks like he might be a bit shy, or maybe he just doesn't like the hollyweed bullsht. Didn't he live in a tent when he was filming Fellowship of the Ring?

I don't know about the tent but he apparently slept with his sword, lol.

Sustained eye contact during conversation makes me uncomfortable sometimes.

I always think that if an adult fails to make eye contactthat they don't like me for some reason and that i am not reaching them.
