It wasn't the best in the world. Mr. M. just doesn't have a powerful enough voice to carry it off. It broke amd wavered and ruined the whole effect, IMO.

I didnt mind it, probably because I had such a crush on the character, but one of my brothers said the same as you, Wp. He said his voice was distractingly squeaky.

Oh dani, do confess! His voice was a bit nasely, but I thought the speech was fine.

The speech itself was great, Grimes, and yes, he does have a nasally voice. He speaks in the back of his throat.

Seems to me he might have wrecked his voice from

              1. chain smoking
                and
              2. his flamenco singing.
Just a theory, ofcourse. He might have always had a squeaky voice.

I like it but it's an acquired taste. People were abusing him on the LotR yahoo group years ago about his singing. The guy is mult talented.

Renaissance man, like Mads Mikkelsen. Must be a viking thing. Those guys can do anything.

Yes,111c I do agree, and I do think Mads is from the same place as Viggo! I'm a big fan of both of them.

Mr. M. can do a lot of things but singing is surely not one of them, lol. His voice is weak and has no range.
