Chris Knight, in an interview, said that what happened was that the producers negotiate with the kids separately meaning they aren't all paid the same. Budgets being what they are, they can only pay so much for each of the kids to come back. In general, he says they only need 4 kids to get a green light from the network to move forward. In this case, the producers had offered more $$ to get Maureen (Marcia) to say yes. She accepted, but that left fewer $$$ for them to work with for Susan Olsen. Susan decided it wasn't worth the money they were offering her to do the movie (or reportedly move her honeymoon plans), so she skipped it. You will note she's been quoted as saying she'd rather be in vacation than doing a stupid BB reunion, but she's only missed one (and stupid or not, it was the highest rated reunion). In fact, the Xmas reunion was so successful that it pushed the network to consider the the Bradys in 1990.which she didn't say no to (and, coincidentally, Maureen declined).

She actually was since she has said Jennifer is a lot prettier than her. They met years ago by chance at a Burger King, and Jennifer gave her a hug. They remain friends today and Jennifer has even posted a pic on Twitter of the two together.

like susan had any other professional acting gigs going on in 1988, shame on her for not doing this reunion for the fans of the brady bunch. and also shame on eve plum for also not doing this.

ohh that can't be right.
cause it saids she got married the first time in 1988 and the movie was out in 1987. so they had to make it before 1988.
Susan Olsen was married in August of 1988 and
A Very Brady Christmas
was first aired in December 1988, not in "1987".
